Mattayou, well done on your first fish.Grunter is really good eating!

I know you have dived numerous times without seeing big fish.Shooting fish isn't just the case of jumping in the water and they swim up to you so that you can shoot them. Most of the time it is hard work, either waiting on the bottom in some crevice till you are blue in the face,or getting smashed into rocks waiting for the Garrick/Leeries to swim past.I usually get fish most times I go but I know my area well and when to dive it.

There are still good fish to be had but it takes time and knowledge of the area and which fish are in season eg.Garrick - winter time (May-Nov) KZN South Coast.

Join a club or start diving with someone better than you, that always helps a lot.

Good luck, spearing is a serious addiction to me.
