Report on 31 October OPBC Cape Bream Derby
Saturday turned out to be a peach of a day off Sea Point & Clifton area. I got numerous calls and e-mails of people canceling/bailing out prior to the competition, because of wind. What wind……….??? Something I learnt over the years, ride down to the slip on the morning and then take the decision. With 59 entries and in total 21 boats the juniors, guys & dolls had fun. All the entrants caught fish. I am told to believe that the bigger fish were caught in deeper waters off Clifton.
Boat Prize (Heaviest 4 fish collectively)
“FOR FUN” 5.62 kg (John, Nigel, Shirley & Barry) - R500, Case of beer, fishing tackle, T-Shirts & Caps
In conclusion; Congrats to the winners. Thanks to everyone that participated. Everyone caught fish, had fun and enjoyed the “Boeri-Roll”
The crew on “FOR FUN” mentioned they need competition.
Oh and the stories of “the one that got away”
A special thanks to Andy Roper, Jo-Anne Raubenheimer, Ian Norris & Ridwa for assisting in making the event a success.
28 November 2009 – open to all – See you there……..
Ps - Hope to see more SEALINERS
