Hi there to all anglers!

We are pleased to launch our Cob Derby 2011 buildup on the Sealine website. This year we are running the event over two days and are looking forward to seeing many of you down in Mossel Bay on the 17th & 18th of December.

This year we are proud to say that we have secured a 4.7m fully equipped rubberduck (to the value of R120 000)as our first prize for the biggest cob caught during the two day fishing period! In addition, if that cob exceeds the 100pound limit, an additional R100 000 is up for grabs. Most definately a prize that makes you sit up and take notice of this competition.

The entry fees are as follows:
R350 per angler and
R550 for skipper and boating fees

So just to explain, if you want to enter your boat (and you are a skipper) then you pay R550 and your crew pays R350 each. Ladies and juniors are encouraged to participate, however, there are no seperate categories this year. Everyone competes in the same category. There are other prizes up for grabs and will be distributed according to the prize structure as determined by the competition committee.

Below you will see the 2011 Cob Derby poster. Entries to begin during the first week in November. We are waiting for our new website to be launched so hang tight.

You are more than welcome to post questions on this topic. I will be able to respond to them and will be checking the site on a regular basis.

O yes, the entry fee includes a t-shirt and extras (e.g. meal etc). I'll post the full comp details within the week.

See you in Mossel Bay, 2011!
