Jet-ski Fishing

Hi Guys

I am very interested in Jet-Ski fishing and would like to know if I where to buy myself a ski what are the minimum requirements to fish with it in the sea, like length I know is longer than 3m, but is there other requirements also like the horsepower/cc of engine, width, weight etc?

Any feedback will be appreciated

There are many things to consider when buying a jetski.
Basically there are 2 models to look at the Seadoo and Yamaha.
I personally prefer a Yamaha. I have a Yamaha FX1800HO.
It is good for fishing as well as playing at the dam, and can pull a tube and wake board easily.
As far as I know there are no engine requirements but anything bigger than a 1100cc will do.

You will need a skippers licence, safety equipment, COF and buoyancy certificate.

Tubbies are a must when fishing 2up.
Do yourself a favor and put on racetech clip on tubbies they are awesome.

I purchased my ski from Brilliant bass boats in polokwane. Pm me if you want their details.

You will need a GPS unit. Garmin Echomap 50S.

Look at fx160 yammi if fuel consumption is nb...

Got MORE than enough power. You can get nice used one for under R130k. new they are 200k++ :(

fx 1650 is 3.3m...
make sure you like and enjoy the rigging layout..
