ELBE Waverunner 13.6ft Lightening

Hi Guys

I have a 13.6ft ELBE waverunner that Im busy getting redone, changing all the eyes to FUJI.

I wanted to find out if anything can be done to lighten the butt section.

I was told that it is a #24 winch section which is a budget item.

I thought of shortening it to 13ft and replacing it with a new winch.

What options if any do I have to lighten the rod?

Strip the base to bare blank. under the EVA is a thick layer of epoxy, if the rod has the wood butt take off as well. Velcro, winngrip, eva grip with less glue applied, Rubber cap with SS ring. Rod weight should drop with about 50gr.

The rod has sentimental value to and i really enjoy fishing with it, just that to hold it and fish constantly does wear you..
