Black rocks river south coast

Have not fished these two. However many of the rivers and estuary systems on the South coast have good fishing. River/rock salmon, river bream, Pick handle, flathead, kob etc. Also good big Mozambique Tilapia!

However many are reluctant to divulge as some of these systems are closed off from the sea and stocks can easily be plundered. River/rock salmon are especially at risk as they are territorial and aggressive feeders.(and good to eat).

Best would be to decide what species you want to target and then gear up accordingly and go and try it out.

All I can add is the further south you go the better it gets.

I would like to target rock salmon though I don't really know what artificials to use.Had a few takes on live bait although they always drop it when the slightest of resistance is felt.

If you are fishing this river please be aware that there are crocodiles. One of the crocodiles is 2m plus, the rest are smaller.

Be careful, if you are fishing artificial you will be too close. A croc on the hunt will never be seen in time and you will have 0 time to react.

Take care.

This is a pic from the last time and as you can see the beach is like 100m away.Think they have gotten used to a certain degree of salt.
