Umgazi tips and advice needed!

guys i leave for umgazi on friday 4am, im armed to the teeth with tackle and spare rods and spools... any tips for the eastury?

hoping to get some skippies and perhaps a snapper or 2 specifically but hell anything will do!

You need a boat to really get the most out of this river....
There can be good fishing in front of the bungalows on start of the push in the evenings where the water forms a crease coming over the dropoff. Got leeries, shad, kob and gurnard on lure here.
Then you want to get up to the top of the river....the big corner after the oyster, rock bar is lethal on the push....good GT's, pickhandles, skippys, and lots of smaller kingies......and up from that is river snapper territory....

howzit - did you end up going? looked like it was flooding when I drove past on Friday afternoon.

yup river was in flood, sat and had a few beers instead but there were fish caught on bait just wasnt my scene, lovley river though.. next time!

ja hell it rained hectically through Friday night as well - caught a few small snapper in the chocolate water where I was but otherwise quiet - but weekend almost here then rock and roll time again
