Wanted: Yamaha 40hp crank shaft

Hi boaters, looking for a crankshaft on 80's model Yamaha 40hp. Been on the dam and the crank just broke. What might be the cause? Does anyone know what the cost of a new crank might be? Contact of persons that recons cranks? Will appreciate any advise, thanks.
