Hi Sealiners Off to Witsand ( Breede River mouth ) with my son ( 14 ) next week for three days of light tackle shore fishing - catch & release with the odd one for the fire. Looking to catch Leervis, Grunter & Cob. Any advice will be welcome regarding spots, weather conditions, bait, lures, tips, tricks, bait shops etc. Thanks in advance.

Pump mudprawn or blood worm for the grunters. you can either drift or anchor for them. fish with very light tackle. try topwaters in the bays. Leeries are everywhere. small 2 oz plugs work well. walk along the sand bank across from the lodge during the push. alternatively drift a livie. haven't really targeted cob but livies and dropshot a good call. There is a Big Catch tackle shop as you come into the town. Buy your goodies there. The guys will help you with current conditions.
