Hi Sealiners Off to Witsand ( Breede River mouth ) with my son ( 14 ) next week for three days of light tackle shore fishing - catch & release with the odd one for the fire. Looking to catch Leervis, Grunter & Cob. Any advice will be welcome regarding spots, weather conditions, bait, lures, tips, tricks, bait shops etc. Thanks in advance. |

Pump mudprawn or blood worm for the grunters. you can either drift or anchor for them. fish with very light tackle. try topwaters in the bays. Leeries are everywhere. small 2 oz plugs work well. walk along the sand bank across from the lodge during the push. alternatively drift a livie. haven't really targeted cob but livies and dropshot a good call. There is a Big Catch tackle shop as you come into the town. Buy your goodies there. The guys will help you with current conditions. |
