ABU Ambassadeur 2500C

I understand they are not common, but if I don't ask....

They will usually ship reels here, this reel has been produced in limited runs for Japanese market. Bit of a cult item. Lots of upgrades available. I had a 2500 with upgraded levelwind for awhile. Very sweet reel.

Thing is, a New In Box or Used in Box from the late 70's to mid '80s or a Nostalgia Edition circa 1997 would be very nice, but a bit out of my league. This is not for collecting / having...
I will be pulling out the level wind, probably replacing the spool, new ceramic hybrid bearings and some other things....

Small round bait casters have been by and large replaced with LP reels, so I am hoping that someone locally has an old one lying un-used in a cupboard.

I absolutely cannot deal with the old style pawl and dog anti-reverse. The 'glock glock' drives me nuts. The new variants have an IAR.
