Assassin Sierra Lite Rod 8ft

Howzit guys

I am Looking for a Spinning rod (8ft) to use for throwing lures/top water plugs off the boat, Particularly for Yellowtail and hopefully bigger.

The Assassin Rods appear to be getting good reviews but I was wondering if anyone had any views on the Sierra lite range, for whom reviews seem few and far between.

The Shimano Aerocast was always the preferred favourite of the past.

How do the 2 rods compare. I was looking at the Assassin Sierra Lite 8' H vs the Aerocast 8' H

A rod that I have seen being mentioned before that may also be worth a look is the Shimano Technium Surf which comes in 8ft2 option...Retail around R1399 at Ganis.

With the Technium look at the 8'6 XXH.

The Sierra is a fair bit more rod than the Aerocast in terms of power. I really like the Sierra rod as a 20lbs rod for tail paired with say a Stradic 5000. It would pair well with this. The 5000/6000 Saragosa may be a bit big for it.

Caught our first few tail on Assassin Duel heavy 8 ft
with 20kg braid and sustain and stradic both 5000

What a pair really worked well for us on 5 to 6kg tail that rod has a lot of pull and casts very well.
