Hey guys. I’m in need of some advice. I want to buy a bass setup to get started but don’t really know what to shop for. I want something in the budget of R2000 for rod and reel. Any suggestions?

Personally for a reel id go with the new sedona or sahara 3000. (~900-1k)

Rod id go Assassin sabre 6'L if only want to use for bass, but if you would like to maybe do some estuary fishing aswell, id go 6.6'MH so you can still get a small mullet or bait out in the channel. (~700)

Rest of budget on braid

Good luck

Hi Flea

What sorta structure are you looking at fishing most?
A good medium setup should cover most of them to a certain level.
I use a 7ft Loomis Tiagra R700 for most of my bassin paired with a 3000 Daiwa Laguna R700 and 20lb braid.

Getting something of similar value will ensure you have a few bucks to spare for all the thousands you end up spending on lures and plastics :doh

Fishing with a ultralight setup is even more fun and certainly worth looking into as well.
Tiny Terror 500 with 10lb braid and a 5.6ft Mitchell Pepastick is always with me when im at the dam :)

Tight Lines and hope you get what you are looking for :)

Adrenaline have some great decent price bass rods the last I checked..My shimano nexave 7ft-mh from 15 years back is still serving me well..caught loads of fish in the estuaries too, threw a livebait in the channel this weekend..Got caught in a car door years ago and is now closer to 6'6 but lots of rods in decent price I think in your bracket..Get a nice reel. I use a ecooda blackhawk 2500 for that, shimano spinners are highly recommended. Save cash for decent braid and some plastics, hooks and leader etc..
