I heard that they're catching plenty of kob at the "Lighthouse Rocks" and grunter on the Ferry Point side of the river mouth. As for rigs, hopefully another member can give you some advice on that. The locals are a great resource as well. Especially at the local accomodation establishments.

Hi, We had very little luck with fishing. Mostly saw guys pulling out grunters. The conditions should be good for you next week as it started rough and merky for us. Good luck

We recently fished PSJ. We targeted kob and any grey jacket. The conditions were not favourable however we put the hours in and found a hole here and there that may hold fish in an otherwise strong washing sea. We landed kob from 2kg to 9kg in the surf. One lone blackfin of 101kg at Poenskop Most of the area was sanded up and this added to the strong side wash. We fished the river area with nothing much to account for. We covered lots of ground and kept moving till we found a bait could hold for a few minutes and that's how we found fish. Other than that, PSJ is always an adventure and a beautiful destination. A few kob were kept for a braai over the duration of the trip. Overall, not a bad trip and plenty smiles and laughter all round.

Sorry for all the double posts. Kob were found along the stretch on first beach. I unfortunately only found the nursery but hey... that's fishing

Hi Keane, Octopus and chokka enticed the kob. Fresh kob head tickled the blackfin. The current was way too strong to fish with paddle tails due to all the sand. Found it could not stay in the zone long enough to be worked nice and slow.
