WANTED: Tyrnos 50 2 speed

For what its worth, Ganis sells a Tyrnos 50 for R4195 + VAT = R4825
I claim the VAT back, so I write that off.

There is no point messaging me to sell me a second hand reel for R5000.

hmmm, then I need to come visit you...to see whats happening on your boat.

I fish smaller reels, with heavy line.i can always follow a fish with the boat, so 450 meters is enough...especially 27kg class on a 30 size ld reel.
my reels are tested beyond their operation specs...

I've caught a few marlin where I appreciated line capacity. A big Blue will overtake the boat and still strip 600m in a run. I have decided to go to Tyrnos 50s because they are capable but much lighter.

Looking for a lever drag for droning etc.

New tyrnos is pricey :?

SLX doesnt compare to a tyrnos.
Look for a second hand tyrnos/TLD they pop up all the time for a decent price.

Hey bud.

I was looking at a affordable lever drag as I don't have 10 k to blow on a reel strictly used for droning.

An uncle of mine who knows a guy (fishes charters) who would sell a brand new makaira 50 wii spooled with 1000 m 100 lb boss braid and 0.80 kingfisher with 1.4 mm leader

Price R5500

Based on what I can see that is a machine of a reel.
I mean a new SLX 50 goes for 4 k ...might actually take it.

The makaira is leagues better than the SLX.
A 50wii makaira with braid for R5500 is a bargain, theres one for sale on FB (might be the same one).
SLX 50wii goes for 3k or just over (goedkoop = duurkoop)

I managed to get a brand new Tiagra 50w LRSA for 5k. The deals are there just need to jump on them.

My 2c consider buying a Talica 25ii 600m 75lb backing and then topshot 300m 75lb braid for droning or 200m 0.6mm mono for throwing/sliding. Much more useful reel which could justify the purchase (also a few second hand ones popping up every now and then)

That's like asking how does a Tata compare to a Toyota. What kind of response do you expect? ;)

My motto is buy the most expensive Shimano you can afford and you'll have the best gear available to you.
