Booked in at Riverview Lodge over the past weekend . Had a blast of a time . The venue is excellent and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Fishing was awesome .. we fished specimen and pap gooi with some good results .

Caught my PB of 11.4kgs

6kg common caught pap gooi .
Concentrates used Perri Perri by Conoflex and fireball by FISH
Hook bait : FX oozers and fireball soft floaties . Vampire bullet as backing

Amazing enough , I had a triple up on all 3 of my rods , 3 rd fish was under a KG , did not make the photo lol . For a moment it felt like I was a bloemhof dam .

Awesome venue 🎉🎉🎉

What baits worked the best? My dad still does some conventional angling and I only do specimen angling. We're fishing at Vosrite next weekend. Haven't been to the Vaal this year at all.

On the specimen side , soaked my hook bait in HI Line coconut concentrate, used a tigernut with a fake tiger attached. Attached about 5 large tigernuts as freebies with PVA

On the pap gooi side , only fished soft floaties ( fireball , Perri Perri , Tjop Tjop and banana )

Concentrates used : Perri Perri , fireball , Tjop Tjop and granadilla .

Another beauty of 10.2kgs was also caught at Riverview lodge on the same weekend .

We managed about 30 fish in total, catfish were very active. Biggest carp was just over 10 kg and got a nice mirror of 9.1 kg. Critically balanced tiger with cork and fake maize worked the best.

Hi, Nice catches! But don't think this one is 7kg..probably lbs..Compare to the 6kg pic, still, well done and thanks for sharing
