Hi all,

I am going with a couple of friends to arniston for a weekend soon. Upon doing some research, it has come to my attention that we are going on a neap tide :X.

Can you please advise as to how the fishing in the area is during a neap tide as i have only ever been during spring tides and from my understanding, spring tides makes for better fishing

any advice would be highly appreciated

are we not getting too technical about it?

fish feed, weather its neap or spring, high or turn of the low tide.

sometimes neap is better as you do not need to cast far.
neap normally falls over the sunrise/ sunset time.

so how can it not be a good time for fishing?

just go fish, make the most of it and enjoy it!!!!

Different conditions, different fish, different techniques ...Soos WWS se'..All better than a kick in the pants or day in the office!

My last decent fish was caught on the neap.. Bite has gone k@k last few nights, water has gone sterile, has nothing to do with the tides. Each spot is different too, some like springs, just around the corner or the next bay, could prefer neaps?

Full moon last night chased fish away..on spring the moon would be even bigger..doesn't always help. But when the spring is here, there are high water spots and and normally inaccessible low water spots to keep me busy.

i agree... just looking for information on spots as the spots i generally fish there are only accessible on the spring low tides.

I suppose i phrased my question wrong
