Good day all.
I have a Shimano Technium Medium and a Torium 30.
I would like another setup mostly for sharks and rays.
Maybe the technium heavy and a Torium 50? Any information as to what rods to look at will be very helpful. Dont want to spend more than R4000 on reel and R4000 on rod.

the question is, can you handle a 50 size reel.
casting it effectively?

note that a torium 50 is much bigger then a 30.

Hi Willem. Thanks for the feedback, yes I have casted with it. And still get the same distance with the 50 than the 30.

I only use 30 size reels in shimano and up to 50 size in daiwa.

still waiting to be spooled on a casting bait, slid or thrown.

maybe free swimming bait fish you might get to being spooled.
but if you feel it is a need and a necessity!!!
then go for it.

a nice to have is another thing.
strange enough, I like my lighter setups then the heavier stuff

Frana where would you be fishing for these sharks/rays, this will most likely determine what tackle you get.
