send your pics guys!
and a reminder - 35cm total length size limit, and two per person.

just a pic and a brief description and size.

good luck!!!

Bonus points for if the big breeders are returned to the water and not on the braai..remember they are resident and it's UR resident stock that your fishing now, will affect in the future.

That 55cm female could be 12 years old or more, the 55cm male fish would be well over 20 years old. The stock has stabilized after commercial harvest, gill-netting and beach driving has been stopped. The bag and size limits and closed seasons seem to be sufficient and 50% of 35cm females have spawned at least once in their lives. A mature 35cm female will release 300 000 eggs or more and a large 55cm or bigger female 1,3 million eggs or more per spawn event.

Fish for the future, limit your bag, don't bag your limit..

Here's to some fat gallies on the braai! One of my favorite delicacies of the sea..

Hopefully i will finally catch my first Overberg(Gansbaai, Hermanus,Kleinmond and Betty's Bay) galjoen this year. This past five seasons i have caught only klipvis and steenbras whilst targeting them(not complaining about the steenbras though).

Late March i will go target a biggy at Dana Bay.

I had an opportunity to join Rean Rademeyer, and a fellow RASSPL bud this morning, for a video session. Monster Angler, knows his stuff, and very nice. Eager to guide and help.

Sad to say, got nothing. Rean got two.
I didnt see the first one, but the second was a very nice size.
Just gotta keep trying.

Nice vis. Well done. Hopelik kry ek ook n nice enetjie die seisoen. Ek het laas seisoen in die strand een gevang maar het hom laat gaan om nog te groei. Dit was my eerste Galjoen ooit. Awesome gevoel al moes ek hom terug sit. Kan nie wag om by die water uit te kom nie.

Thought I'd try my luck at Slabber se Klip (Melkbos) on Sunday. Eish...looked like a swimming pool. Flat and clear.

So I have endeavoured to teach a few friends to catch galjoen this season, basically starting at Galjoen 101, then I stumbled across this book, flip I don't know what else I can teach them. Definitly the most comprehensive book out there on gallie fishing by one of Sealine old trouble makers

Hopefully I can post a few pics of the newbys with there catches!;)
