Berkley Venom Anaconda 13’6” spinning rod for sale. It is the maroon/purple model, rated. 2-6 oz. It is fitted with a bionic finger. The rod has been gathering dust and has seen very little use (3 or 4 times at most- in fact, to my own embarrassment I have never caught a fish with it 🤭☺️). It is in excellent condition. Purchase price is R3900, excluding postage. PM me if interested. I’m in Irene, Centurion.

What is the difference between this and the black edition? I have been interested in the black, but can't find info on the internet about the difference

There’s a thread on this issue on Sealine. It appears as if, save for the colour , the specs remained the same.

The only info I get on sealine is the following thread which doesn't contain any info on the different components:

http://www.sealine.co.za/view_topic.php?id=108031

I am interested in the rod, but just trying to understand the difference as I have handled the rod in the store and based on the fact that the blank is the same, then at least I know to that extend the feel would be the same.

It seems the purple didn't have a bionic finger, was yours fitted afterwards or was there a "facelift" model also?

Yes, that is the thread I was referring to and from which I inferred that the blank is the same. I had the bionic finger fitted via Solly’s Anglers Corner in Pretoria at the time when I purchased the rod from them.

The blanks indeed appear to be identical, save for the colour. Both have excellent components/fittings as well. It’s basically the same sexy girl with different earrings. Having regard to the apparent condition of the rod and what the black model sells for , I’m of the view that the asking price is extremely reasonable.

Fwiw. I contacted Iron River to find out what the difference is and they confirmed that all components are different as well as the graphite, although the action is the same on the rod, so it will have the same feel.

In that case, it may be most helpful if you could post the differences so that the issue is clarified once and forever?

Importers can make more of an effort to have specifications available on their websites.
