Ja its pretty sif..But all the waters around Cape Town are pretty sif..There has not been proper planning for sewerage treatment for the entire city, the atlantic seaboard just filters out tampons and condoms and pumps the s#it out to sea, only a couple of hundred meters offshore, through very broken pipes. I've nearly died from life threatening infections twice in my years of surfing Sea Point. Nevermind the industrial pollution etc, most of the sediments in sandvlei are contaminated with heavy metals also from the industry in retreat, mainly automotive works and painting industries. Sorry bud, I don't have any suggestions, eventually I just moved away to better and greener, and bluer pastures..it used to be pretty sif years ago, now its just worse. I saw these surfers so stoked to paddle out last week at strandfontein, there was a layer of sewerage whipped up foam on the water that stank so bad..I dont know how they don't realize they are swimming in poo ?!
