Hi all

It seems that there are many guys not making full use of the features of SEALINE.

1.  Once you have logged onto SEALINE, the best way of proceeding is to click the RECENT button at the top of the page (under the menu button). This will automatically bring up all the most recent posts in every category. The computer cache will remember which posts you have read and which ones you haven't... each time you log on, the new posts that you have not read will be marked with a little ARROW.

This way, you don't need to wade thru piles of stuff trying to find new posts.

To get back to the RECENT PAGE from anywhere, click THE MENU BUTTON (Top of every page), then click RECENT again.

Hope this helps!

2.  And before you ask a question, do a SEARCH first... there is a good chance your question may have been answered before!

3.  Please have the courtesy to fill in your PROFILE. It helps an awful lot when trying to help someone.

this forum is still quite new. join a techie forum where they a million posts and ask a question without doing a search first will bring the wrath of the moderators upon u and there are some mean moderators on the internet! searching is the number 1 rule and if we can get the new members to search first and then ask, it will make for a better user experience ,less clutter and dead topics.

Hi

Just to add to this, a shortcut that works great for me.

Go onto Sealine, click Home, Click Recent, when the page have loaded, save it as a favourite in the "Links" folder. Sealine should then display as a link in the Links bar, and if you click it will take you directly to the recent posts area. The only drawback is that you have to click "Refresh" to make sure you load the latest messages.

Sorry, had to point it out as it's too funny!!! LOL.
Nice try, Reefs!

But true about getting new members especially, to do the research first, before asking questions!

Guys, I LIVE in the recent threads - but could you please have a RECENT button or link on EACH page? Often I'll follow a thread in 3 or 4 pages, and the want to return to RECENT posts. Then I have to go about it through the home page again, wasting precious reading time...

Also, a RECENT button atfer posting/editing/replying?

How 'bout it, Reefs?

Ta,
Mike

Great idea TJ. Will ask Emperor... maybe also a RECENT BUTTON on the PM messages page, otherwise we need to go Home page first, then Recent....

Just a quick tip on this to do it without rewriting the website.  Both the newest versions of the Firefox & Internet Explorer (and some older versions) web browser has a toolbar that will do the job.

In Firefox it's called the Bookmarks Toolbar, just save your favorite link, ie "Sealine - Recent" in the Bookmarks Toolbar, and it's a one click away available from any web page, not only Sealine.  See example.

In Internet Explorer it's called the "Favorites Bar", save your recent shortcut in the favorites bar, and as in Firefox, it's one click away from any web page, see example:
