I simply want to catch as many fish as I like, whatever species I like and whatever size, I like....whenever I like.

Is that too much to ask ?

That's a dream we all have. I've never had much luck in Margate or Ramsgate. My buddy used to drag me to the Pier before it collapsed but I just couldn't stand the smell. I did OK from Uvongo north with Mtwalume producing the best. Only things I like in Margate are the burgers at Tilleys and Tiagos. Sorry dude.:SSS

Tilleys Burgers Rocks.

I catch most days, but its been bad the last 2 weeeks.

Chopppy water, lots and lots of scavengers.

I also fish Uvongo and Trafalgar, but there is such a good crowd of guys who fish Margate, its always fun.

Are those the guys with the Beach Buggies?

@ tauruck . Howzit, I kno those bullies with the beach buggies. They fish at whale rock, a bt right from where I like to fish, at Seabrook Rocks.

This morning was very rough and there was no chance of getting anything.

I went down late yesterday, but it was crazy. We had some hektic winds and from a calm sea in the morning, it was a monster by the afternoon. This morning is not much better. Sob sob sob.

Hopefully we have a miracle today and it calms down, I am getting hungry.

Another windy day, but its cleard up and the wind has dropped quite a bit. I went down, threw a spoon, then some bait and then a spoon again, but got nothing.

I am praying that it gets better, as we have our first guests coming for a fishing weekend. We have started a side business called "live like me", where tourists can come and stay with a South African Family, Braai, have a local guide, learn to fish, learn to make a curry etc etc. We have a lekker bar area, with a jacuzzi, 2 double en-suite rooms, garage.

I used to be a chef, so this is always something that I have always wanted.

Keep well and give me a shout if you are in the area.

Here are some pics of the conditions today. Tomorrow should be much better.

Something to do on the weekend and hopefully make a little bit of much needed cash.... and most of all have fun and fish all the time. Yea- baby.

Wind is about 25 knots at the moment, but is dying down to an expected 10 knots tomorrow. This is from Seabrook Rocks, shot from the top parking lot. (Overlooking the main beach)

My battery was running flat, so they are quick snaps.

Hi. The pier is closed for repairs.

We went down this morning, never even put a bait out...sob sob.

8 ft monster waves, just a huge frothy mess of white water.

Lets hope that it calms down.

Anything happening in Margate - any news of sardine activity there.  We will be there this weekend.  Hoping to get into some fish.

Those pics you posted look familiar. Could be the place we used to go to after work. We went down the road from Uvongo to the beach and turned right, then drove to the Cul de Sac (where the women sell the beads and stuff.) and there are some big high rocks there. The water there is always boiling and rolling. We called it "Washing Machine". Got a few nice fish there. Is that the same place?.

We fished this last Saturday in the rain at Margate and managed to get blacktail, stone bream, shad and one bronze bream of about 2kg.  What did you guys get?
