Hi all, im planning to go to Klipdrift Dam or even known as Lakeview Resort, its about 30km's before Potch.

Can anyone pls give me some info about what baits to use and

how deep should i be casting.

Any info regarding fishing there will be greatly appreciated.

From the resort, the dam is quite shallow very far in. Max depth you will get from the bank to about 100m is about 2.5m. Almond mielies and floaties have always worked well for me there, although I have only ever fished there from a boat going across to where the inlet is. Normal flourescien groundbait has proved prodcutive. There are a few proffesional FW anglers that love this dam. Schalk van Breda is one of them. Not sure if he is on Sealine, he should have some good advice. I know he has published several articles in Stywelyne on Klipfrift dam. Search for threads on Klipdrift maybe you get some more info. The barbel grow huge in this dam. I was on the boat when my old mate Dan de beer pulled out an absolute monster. The picture was posted up in Fieties (for those of you that know Carletonville) shop for some time. Platana's were deadly for the barbel.
