![]() This amazes me. I made a comment on SeaLine about 42&10 and 44&08 in summer with 5 square miles around each of those marks and you would be smiling. Now Monday we were in that area and we did ok. Got onto the fish late but from a recreational point of view we did very well. 3 days later, early Friday morning (can't count Friday as day 4 as it hasn't happened yet) and the fish is there but not in any numbers. We go plenty sterntrawlers (my favourite African / Queen) and nothing. So maybe I need to rethink my piece of advice about those numbers. On any given day at this time of year I would run to the abovementioned numbers. BUT... it seams the fish are right back in the west where they were in late April to June. Odd odd odd. The sea- one big mystery!

Thats 38 miles in 3 days that they moved right? Was there any change in the weather patterns that causes that or do the fish just decide to go where they want for no reason?

Nopem 18 miles. They were in the west in the beginning of the week too. But over last weekend, not this one, the numbers were good in the Canyon. Now it seams they back in the deeper longfin grounds. I give up!

All I can say is NO FAIR. You talk about a bad day 10 yft of 60-80kgs, and 20 LF. Thats enought o sink my 21 ft butt cat, and enough for most people to do cart wheeels all over the place. Awsome fishing, can just dream about the days when the fishing is GOOD if thats a avg to bad day. sure then you do get the days when you get skunked, but we need those as well to keep it Real. Well done to all involved.

Miles - Thanks for the ride, appreciated as always. Working fish on the Dr Fish is better than doing anything else. Mr yellowfin - will you please stop playing hard to get and just feed good and proper. 6 lines in the water means we want 6 at a time, not 2. Thanks again Miles.

Ja, there's some fish around for sure. But very patchy. The thing with Wednesday was it has to be the flattest sea day I can remember in about 5 or so years. The run to the deep was amazing and I have NEVER seen false bay so flat upon our return. As far as a day goes, you don't get any better than that sea wise.

I haven't confirmed this but the source is very reliable. I believe a deck boat out in the canyon had 13 nice yellowfin onboard. This was on Saturday and will have been an accumulated total for a few days at sea (I think). Will try shed some light but there are boats getting fish, you have to work damn hard for them but they there still.
