You come down the slipway, gentle breeze blowing. The driver asks you too keep the lights off, he's reversing and the slipway light is out again, your deck lights are blinding him. It's 4:00am, an hour before first light. You warm up the engines on the slip, there is not a soul in sight. Engines warmed up so the youngster unhooks the boat. The driver goes up two meters or so, then comes back fast and breaks hard, she runs off the trailer, with a little help from the engines. Aaagh the smell of two strokes (nothing like it) you feel her lift as she comes off the trailer, you're afloat. Deck lights go on as the bakkie staggers out the water up the slipway, then the nav lights, the GPS, VHF and finally the trims are set, you know this place, so you swing her about inside the slip, port side just in gear, starboard a short hard burst as she turns on a tickey and faces the exit.

Just outside, you aim the spot light into the water, the resident maasbanker come say hi. A few charged up yozuris go in and you're full before the crew even get on board. You head in and pick them up, the poor bastards get to walk the hill.

Keys in the cubby, the smokers light up (never been there) and junior brings out the coffee. GO TO the point is entered. Swing past the ROCK and bring her up to 20 knots, as she tracks on the highway. Deck lights go off, steaming lights go on. The Point lighthouse on your starboard, Cape Hangklip on your port. The phosphorous is all over the show, splashing up the gunnels and dancing in the wake.

HT, for a chopped up Banana Boy, you're a bit of a Frickin romantic hey? :lol:1

Well at least after a few of these::greenbeer:::slo:beer

Thanks for the compliments Leonard and others.

Darren, who is this weather working for. Todays like winter outside, I give up.

Nepps bru, I love the ocean, long before I even think of how much I enjoy angling. The sea amazes me every time I am on it, in it, or just watching it.
We are spoilt us coastal buggers, half the time we take it for granted.
I was in the surf with the kids early Sunday morning, well actually I looked more like the beached whale, but chicks dig that I think (ha ha).

When I was watching the lighties body boarding, the thoughts were of how lucky we are.

HT - Mate, I agree with you man, you know I do... And I too have been known to pen the odd magazine article on the joys of this life, and the ocean we live it on... I just couldn't resist takin the piss.... I do that alot you may have noticed...

I grew up on the water, and in it... I spent 5 years running charters in the caribbean, and teaching scuba... I've got over 3200 dives under my belt, and have spent a fair amount of my life, obsessing with the ocean and its creatures.... We are indeed blessed to be able to live next to Mother Ocean, and enjoy her bounty... SOmetimes its not often enough, but at least I see her everyday, and that keeps me going.....

HT - Both jigging sticks have Gimbal butts... The Smith just has a cover over it....

Both the Stella 10K and 20K come with two handles... One "Fighting Handle" like on the 20k, and one "Bulb" handle like on the 10K....

Just noticed I switched the rods around in pic 2....

You should check these little gold hooks I picked up the other day. Decided I was gunna gold tooth those fish. These are Japanese made, not much english on the pack but they are sooooo strong and light. Figure I will hide them in a chunk like never before. Junior reckons I'm just trying to bling out the tackle box.

That's cool, they even match the new Okumas gold colour. That's gotta be some kind of positive vibe for my whole heavy rig.
