You will probably get better results in the Stillbaai area, Xander has had great success, he walks deep in away from the crowds, which is the only way of finding larger adult fish.
I believe our area is far too popular and very overfished to yield adult fish regularly.

Tight lines tjom.

Thank man, I know Xander and will be fishing Blombos with him. I think you guys still have some Gems in the Garden route, you just gotta work harder to find them, I find my myself working the area towards mosselbaai side more cause i get better results

Strange thing,
The usual abundant Mullets in the Knysna Lagoon dissapeared for a period of 3 weeks after the Cold front which caused the fires around Knysna.
Fortunately they are back but dont seem as abundant as before. I will throw a castnet and get some and try for Leerie's, will post pics if it happens.

I am heading to SA tomorrow for a very short visit. Would love to know which areas to target. At the moment I am thinking Kanon unless you guys, the experts, advise somewhere else?

The Knysna lagoon has been dead quiet for some weeks now, must be the Cold. We have tried trolling Livies, bloodworm , Maanskyn wurms and chokka on the bottom but have had no luck other than 15cm Sand Steenbras coming out opposite Featherbed in cold water.
Deepsea has yielded some nice Oceanic Bonito but not as abundant as in Summer. Out in the deep blue the Whales are a real nuisance especially when anchored. It is a hell of a rush when whilst bottom fishing you hear them blow 30m away and you see this Bulge coming towards you. But we see that as a privelige, ust wish the fish come out.
