Listen I think we should just believe the BEST report....
I cannot wait any longer!
I do get your point about saws though, they are normally acurate from friday or three days before. But they are contradictory to everyone else...maybe eskom has something to do with it?

Hey Hammertime. Still blowing 20 knots at Roman Rock (19h30).  They? say that when the gap between min and max gusts gets large the wind is going to drop. Is that true. Windreport graphs these gaps (albeit 2 hours behind) and the Cape Point graphs are unavailable. :spite  Komm shows 6 to 22 knots which is quiet a gap. We come all the way from Dville - hang of a schelp if it is howling. Nice chunks of hot water (22c) around off the point (see pics attached). SAWS says 50 kph for Friday. The suspense is killing. All plans on hold for the fishing - opposition mounting :X

That is fairly true in my opinion.
Fri Sat and Sunday are days I would fish on or ready the crew and boat.
Saturday will be a nice day.
Problem - Low pressure coming in for great weather on Sunday but the wind turns.
Not the best.
Friday the wind drops, this is the day I would get my hopes up for or Friday night.
Saturday night if the fish don't get the hump with the low pressure coming would be good and the ocean will settle nice for the ghost watch.

20knot SE, the bay - NO WORRIES. Just a bit of a snottie on the ride, but to the Island area and beyond it's on your six so I could be coming back when it's dropped the next morning.

BEST way to do it is to go to the slip and do it. Ajay has fished with me and he will tell you, when I get down there and it's howling, we go. Especially if you know it's going to moderate a bit. I like 15-18 knots with choppy water, just makes the whole day feel alive.

Will hunt the reefs and banks one day or probably night. Saturday I am going to take the whole tripe to the middle of the bay area and look for some tail whilst working down toward Anvil - Rocky Bank.
Gut tells me to start on the far side of the bay and work my way toward point.
Methinks the Bell Bouy area has got something for my hatches in it.

Beats mowing the lawn anyway and I been on land for 2 weeks now - Bad 2008 start.

Yeah def i have a feeling the tail gonna def be out closer to anvil hey. We have also had a bad start damn after almost two years of complaining about the sounder and every time been told nope settings r wrong finally have found out the transducer is buggered damn what a start now just praying the boat will be ready by the weekend. Maybe will see u boys out there cause reckon it will be far more productive running to the point than out to the deep but we will see will give u a shout on 71 if we out.

Hi Fin-S. I was in Mauritius during a cyclone in 2003, winds were 240 kph. Flattened everything and power out for 2 weeks. But it only blows seriously for 2-3 days then all over and back to paradise(?) again. Well you know what it does here! Also did the billfish thing, trawled the ocean dead and caught zilch.

Fin-S. Theres blowing and then theres blowing I guess. Cant believe that for crap luck there.Bit of a long way to go for a cancelled session. Shame man.Got to try and laugh tho .Theres really no arguing with "Phenomenal" and a 120 kmh breeze is there."The public is advised to not go dragging Konas around Black River just because youve flown all the way here.Use it .....Dont use it............."

HT --Last few hours.Could very well shadow you for a bit there on Sat unless theres news of something going on elsewhere.

Dea121--Whats your callsign? Is the transducer a bit of a job...Thru hull?

Skip---SAWS downgraded to 30 to 40 KPH for fri.Waiting for midday update today to see. If it drops down nicely today which it seems to be doing it will hopefully have settled a bit by Sat. Those 21 and 22 lines in the deep are FAR tho!!!

Am going to run to Rocky Bank on Sat', look for Tail and try the bottom for King Klip if sea conditions allow.

Anyone going deep for tunny?

HT, I'll see you at Mahogany Reef::slo

Hey St Gurnard, how you doin?
For the other guys on the site who boat fish this area, you wanna see a lovely boat, check out Lamb Chop what a great rig.
Yup Mahogany it will be hopefully after getting a stretch or two.

As for the deep, I'm gunna hang back till end March, maybe mid March hopefully a practice run or two before league. Already had a mombak for 2008, not keen for another one.

Ajay / Ross, I'll give you all a shout this evening.

Nepps/ Patrick, fill me in on this boat? You boys gunna do it. I'll happily wet test her for you any time. Would like to take her for a hop and a skip in some decent surf in the bay at Yzerfontein see how she licks the swells. They surf launch well if you thinking of towing her to hell and gone thats a big plus. Fairly light to for towing.

Must take Vixen up there for some surf play the boys are nagging to ride and jump a swell or two so I think I will go show them what I used to contend with on a regular basis in my banana land days. It's got some stomp up there the surf has.

What does the sea look like again?

Hey HT, am keen. We checked her last night and she's nice. When Nepps has a break from work then we should be able to take her for a run, if you wouldnt mind maybe coming with.
We'll let you know.
Cheers

Patrick, told you before. Any time, just give me a shout. If I can shed a bit of light or put some of my costly mistakes into good use for some purpose - all the more. You got my number.

Tell you what bro. That's not just a move up thats a friggen quantum leap. That boat is one serious piece of machinery.

Idea: - maybe I can hitch a ride and blood the deck for you boys with a nice fat tuna on my 100lb stick.... any offers I accept! he he:spite:spite
