call all pros and timers in surf angling!!!! howzit guys im trying to plan a fishing calendar to find out when would be the best fishing days in the month. full moon,1st quarter.etc please advise and give when your best fishing days were....thanx

hi mum these days they always seem to bite less no matter which moon is up...just joking..!! but on a more serious note, fish tend to be feeding or 'biting' better during last-, newmoon and first -1/4 regards texas-john-slaughter

I bought me the Casio Fishing gear watch. Check out http://www.casioworld.co.za under fishing\hunting. The watch uses the Solunar table which Riymos attached . You can use it in any country tou just set the Longitude to where you are in the world. I use it and depending on conditions as well. I would say yes it works . But the fish must be there no good you fishing on the wrong spot when the fish suppose to bite. So you also have to go look for the fish. Ive found that fishing 3 days before the full moon and 3 days after the full moon are the best for fishing ive proved this to myself and mates time and time again. never fish on the day of the full moon unless you want to spoon for kob at night then it works. Cheers TC

It has lots of information about how those times are calculated and also articles and videos about personal experiences. I myself have had the best fishing during new moon phases, when the major solunar times coincided with low tides. Caught not only more but generally much bigger fish then.

Ok iam going to let it out of the bag . get yourselves the anglers edge AE. http://www.weathershop.co.za cost about R1100. Does the fishing calculations for you as well as correelating it with barometric pressure. it dont get easier than this hand held gadget. ive been using one for a while now and nowadays i only fish when it predicts eak feeding activity. you still have to know how to read water to find fish though.

My handheld gps (garmin rino 530) also predicts according to moon phases the best times and days to fish. But we have found that on days that it predicts a bad days fishing that we can hammer the fish, whilst on the best days prediction we can also get zip. Thus I dont let lunar predictions get in my way of going fishing, I just try to fish where the fish are.
