Our wind that brings the big fish is an off shore wind so you can't really use a kite to get the big bait deep into the water as the wind is usually blowing into your face as you fish.

This will depend on which shore you are fishing!?

The kite is also able to be tacked to  the wind, to allow you to fly it in an onshore or cross-shore condition.

Hi Guys

I had a kite build about ten years ago and is still lying in the garage. I used it off Macassar, Tweedebaai and Srandfontein in a Nort Eastly or North Westly. I used the cocept called a Joe-clip. One uses two rods and reels, one for the kite and the other with your trace and bait. With the Joe-clip one can drop the bait approximately 400 meters, retrieve the kite and even send out more baits if feel like it. I used a 10/0 Penn Senator reel with .55mm line. It was great fun, but with the sliders making their appearance I used the kite less and less.
