I am glad that you are having another one as the last one was so informative and to little time to catch. You are doing a great job and keep up the good work. I have learned more from you that i could learn in the last 3 years on my own. I nearly threw in the towel and gave it up for a bad job but now I am reinvigorated. Thanks

Just a suggestion and this is only a suggestion (for the next comp). With regards to registration, can we not pay the fee into a banking account then an entry fee number gets allocated per "PM" to the contestants. The reference number on the banking details will be their alias/name. This will save some guys a trip to the registration point and also the rush for registration. (is 'n bietjie vroeg vir paar manne) A copy of the registration form can be posted on the website and printed out by the contestant. I would expect only the admin guys to respond to this mail.

Hi there. The reason we haven't done it this way is purely to eliminate or try to minimize cheating.... If you have your number prior to the competition, nothing stops you from driving to struisbaai the evening before or even 3 the morning. You can still probably cheat this way if you want, but few guys will leave here at 5 for struis to be back for the weigh in at 4. We just want everyone to have an equal start.

Whoever is going to ride out to Struisbaai to cheat just to win the competition must be out of their mind or very desperate to win. One of the rules with the last comp was that it should be witnessed by another competitor. (I could stand to be corrected). As I said, it is only a suggestion. Thanks for the reply and thanks for organising these events.

@hotnot, thanks for the inputs. We gladly receive any constructive inputs and will keep it in mind for future reference. With regards to cheating, you would be surprised to hear what some okes get up to to win these competitions. During a Galjoen competition at Melkbosstrand some time ago, some competitors apparently went so far as to shoot Galjoen with spear guns and later submitting their `catches` at the weigh-in. I know it will be difficult to prevent guys from cheating, even for anglers to connive and `witness` each other's illigal catches under the current arrangements, but at least this way we make it just that little bit more difficult to cheat. Hope to see you Saturday morning bright and early!!! LOL

(is 'n bietjie vroeg vir paar manne) hotnot, the venue for the registration and weigh in is the center point of the area we fish in, so there should'nt be a problem to get there like the rest of us. You can grab yourself a lekka warm cup of coffee at the shop and from there you can go and catch the big one! If you snooze, you loose...at the end of the day it's your choice to pay just R50.00, rise earlier and stand a chance to win yourself a prize or two! The registration officers will probably be there till 05h30 and if you move from there to your fishing spot, the time you get your line in the water the sun is out already. Was just thinking of you guys doing the all the ground work and the laat slapers.
