I purchased a hmg comp rod about 2 weeks ago, had some queries ,not so serious.

I sent an email with some questions ,at first reseved about what to exspect.

What a surprise , an anwser within the same day...explanations and recommendations...also the backup and guarentee are second to none...they certainly put there money where there mouth is..and certainly go the extra mile.

Yep, i'm a fan and sold on assassin..not only because its a good rod,but the after sales service is brilliant. These guys know what they are talking about. I can highly recommend this company if your not sure about back up or after sales.

Well done to Basil Manning and his team.A few other company's can certainly learn how to do biz from this company...mmmmsome some of us  knowwho  i'm talking about.

yep, here in the cape .we are not use to service levels like this...thats why they  call it the mother city----------takes 9 months for anything to happen...but then we do have the greatest folk around, the friendly city...with the exception of the robbers, rapists ,murderer's and the #@##$ who rape our sea...

That nice to hear. My experience with the blank manufacturers has been very poor.

The primary reason why I love the Assassin brand so much is that they are hands on... Barry Wareham answers his e-mail within 24 hours with courteous, helpful and succinct replies... no problem too big or too small... all in all, Basil Maning takes a lot of beating in that department.

There are several companies out there, including the one's now making DVD's that could learn a lot from Barry on how to manage a company, how to market it, and how to do proper after-sales service.

And no, unlike Weeds, I am NOT sponsored by Assassin... wish I was though!^^..

Reefman...i agree about the dvd's

maybe all anglers should do what the rest of the nation does...BOYCOTT !!!!!

boycott suppliers who sponsor crap like these dvd's and the one's who sell it to us...or at least give us a  warning! THIS PRODUCT NOT SAFE FOR HUMAN VIEWING or CAUTION :CAN DAMAGE YOUR VIEW OF ANGLING FOREVER...CAN CUASE SEVERE DISTRESS ( with a picture of you throwing your money down the toilet )

At least a bazooka or a waft wont snap like a tooth pick when u strike a fish or cast....

Then off course i seen better back up service from the corner cafe than from those distributors....but the best way to sum it up as one ex employee off theirs said, u pay peanuts and u will get monkeys working for you...

Viva good service!...Viva!

hi guy
I do not have any fancy rods so I neither a fan of any but my pet subject for the past 20 years has been consumer rights.I have had fights with Defy, Electolux ,Woolworths any many more and have won. Presently In Court with Tata Trucks.

If you do a search on threads about Basil Manning both on this site and other sites there is a perception that certain customers have a very raw deal from this supplier. So on the balance it apparent there are problems with the claim on this thread about exceptional service. This may be so but the perception in the market is different.

So ..please all those that have the close relationship with the supplier...please indicate to them to research the threads different websites and please respond to them.

Quality and Good Service is always in the eyes of the Consumer and is nearly 100 percent PERCEPTION.

Regards
Jace

Jace , i have informed assassin to check this site out, which they confirmed they would do.

I agree , especially in todays economic enviroment , where the pie is getting smaller, that the difference in all biz will be service excellence...thats going to make you succesfull or not

My 10 cents

Hi andy
Thanks for taking that up and will look forward to a reply. They have also indicated they will reply on another site with similar problems. Hope they put it to bed soon as bad perception makes uncertain customers.
Thanks
jace

Basil Manning Fishing Equipment has recently formed a Customer Relationship Department, which has been set up to foster strong meaningful relationships with customers. Their function was initially directed solely at our Customer Loyalty Programme, but we have now decided to expand their portfolio to address issues that people outside of our loyalty programme may have. This has come as a result of concerned fellow anglers and customers drawing our attention to the Sealine Website Forum where there have been comments posted about service at Basil Manning and about the Assassin brand of fishing rods. We prefer to deal with specific issues rather than be drawn into general discussions as we feel it is far more constructive to address issues with the customer personally. We have realised however that in doing this, the general public are not able to assess what our customer service is really all about. We strive for excellence, but we are human and do make mistakes on occasion. We appreciate constructive criticism as this enables us to improve our service delivery. We therefore invite members of the Sealine Website Forum to email us on sales@basilmanning.co.za with their contact details and an accurate description of their concern. We will keep a comprehensive record of every interaction and will willingly share this with whoever may be concerned.
In order to address concerns about High Modulus Graphite (HMG) rods, please refer to http://www.assassin.co.za for more information about HMG.
