Well we had a gale from the NE today and most boats ran home early! Stuck it out with her majesty and managed two nice wahoo and dropped a window shopping stripey. The bad news is that there is a huge piece of green water that has moved into the area stretching to past the 800m line! No idea where we will fish tomorrow but will report after the day. ps thanks rianc was a lekka day! Attachment: DSC00626r.jpg (Downloaded 867 times)

Due to the ruckus going on around the SADSAA classic and other issues my booking for the SADSAA classic has been moved to other dates and Reel Magic is available for charter for the comp again! Any interested parties can contact me via the web email address at trevor@reelmagic.co.za .

Out today on the small boat in pretty rough NE conditions on 30 lb. Dropped a small stripey that fell off after pulling some line. Good bird life and flying fish and water in North is purple and 28 deg. No sign of the blues but they must be out there, unfortunately home early due to sea conditions!

So much for a predicted great weekends weather last week. Pouring rain and strong wests put paid to my charters this weekend and resulted in the onset of severe Cabin Fever Water is looking good and some fish came out off Sodwana just before the rain! itching to get out but will have to wait a few days..till then!!

Great to be able to put a report together after a break at home and an enforced break due to weather. Out today on the small boat on 30 lb and tagged and released a nice stripey. Couple of other fish released too, so not too shabby for a peach of a day with no wind. Attachment: DSC00630r.jpg (Downloaded 717 times)

Action packed day today , dropped a good blue around 500lb on a jump off and then two stripeys before 10am - thanks to a 5m swell and shitty sea no doubt. Good news is the current has pushed in hard with the water shooting up by 3 degrees from 25 this morning to 28 by evening. First time weve seen plenty birds working on schools of skippies and small yellowfin the whole season. Hope its not a flash in the pan. Water and conditions looking great after the last 3 weeks of poor fishing! BRING IT ON!

Fishing in Richards Bay at the moment is like being in a automatic wash cycle..stops, starts, spins and plenty fresh water rinses. So glad to have come out on the right side of a stripey attack for a change with a first timer release of a 60 kg stripe today. Best thing of all was the dry cycle and the appearance of sunshine...at last! Some other fish dropped while Bouyance got a small blue and a black of 200kg odd was also caught on Qaswa. Looks good for tomorrow apart from the low Barometer.. Attachment: DSC00634r.jpg (Downloaded 612 times)

Bagged another blue on 30lb today only problem, it didnt make the 400lb mark Im looking for. Fish of 120-130 kg doesn't know how lucky it is. Twice the current record but shes swimming free. Trying to be patient and looking for a fat girl. Next time!![]() Attachment: snapshot_002.bmp (Downloaded 554 times)

Went 1-1 on a Blue of 132 kg on 30 lb again today on Reel Magic out of Richards Bay. Unfortunately it tail wrapped and died arriving DOA after a 4 hr fight to lift it from 350m on bottom. Not a happy chap even though its an SA Record. Out tomorrow looking for a better fish! Attachment: DSC00653r.jpg (Downloaded 517 times)

What a sad bunch of people who run the SADSAA comp. Having disqualified our fish on the first day due to a safety issue of a tag not being placed on the board in the excitement. The boat called in to control and was in the tent at 4 30pm 30 minutes before cut off and the fish was verified and accepted and congratulations accepted. They disqualified the team while a team member was at the club with the tag in his pocket. this was done without contacting us at 2 minutes past 5. Then denied our appeal outright and have deliberately and vindictively taken an action against me and the team based on personal grudge. Every team fishing here knows who won this comp including the wrongfull winners who I had a talk with this morning. Shamefull state of affairs and another blight on SADSAA. Definitely time for a few heads to roll in the hierarchy. Piss poor indeed!!!!!!

Many thanks to all the guys who came up to us and shared their feelings on the goings on at this comp, you know who you are and we appreciated the support. It has been a very difficult few days and excuse my anger. Hopefully this nonsense will stop in this sport, the sooner the better!

Was out yesterday with the guys from Umfolozi casino on a peach of a day. What a great bunch of guys, just a pity the water has gone green on the inside after the big south westers early in the week. Water blue and 29 deg over the 600 with lots of birds and bonnies and little yellowfin. Big girls were quiet so we went hunting for the big yellows in the deep and found them. Had a shoal of 7-8 big yellows on the surface feeding but when we went over them they could be seen on the echo sounding with little interest in the lures. Will be back with plenty bait to see if we can do them in Cape Town style.
