Okay guys so I got 1 shad tonight so here's the mini report.
Got to the place had a gooi and spoon gone, windknot on the grinder with braid on. So put on a top water trace and walked back and got the knot out, then fished until 9pm. Tackle used Blue Marlin Truflex 13ft rod 3pc,20lb spiderwire, regal 4000 and pilchard as bait and a 4/0 hook. Only 3 shad came out and they were only biting for about 20 minutes often, other than that small little razor blade shad cleaning out hooks. I rekon 2 weeks from now and the shad will be here in force.

The shad I got is being kept for Friday nights Palm springs mission. Oh well at least I made history and was the first one to start and not get a blank.

Thanks. Yip gonna put that shad out on the Heavy rig(Tor 50 and /8+1) as I know that a big nunu is waiting for a shad. Now all I need is a fresh blacktail at Palms on Friday evening. Oh and some braid for my Tor 30 ASAP.

@ Darth Vader it aint that dangerous there and when the shad are thick It's throw for throw. Fished there many times and have never had a problem. Just don't take a phone with you(thats what I've been told by the locals) then you pretty safe. I must say though my brothers truflex 13ft throws a 2oz sinker and 2 floats with bait a very good distance. Lekka rod, it just needs bigger eye's for a grinder.
