I don't know if you guys have much of an idea about how audi's motors work but in short e-tecs precisely the same way "fsi" meaning fully stratisfied injection means it has a unique fuel combustion system which was patented by BRP in usa with permission from audi in germany.. Today I stood In our shop we had a aceglider 530 and a kosi kat 186 parked in the motor fitment bay and the owner of the kosi kat insisted on suzuk 90hps and the owner of the ace glider was having 130hp e-tecs fitted and if I put the comparison of the two motors against each other I just don't see what the fuss about suzuki is!!! I mean common suzukis are still using carberators and old fashioned oil filters ?? Another pro of e-tecs are that 115 and up are able to be produce with counter rotating gearboxes standard with viper sst !! Suzuki and honda are no match

The thread is about a Butt cat - not E-Tecs.
But seeing as the hijack is on, I have almost 1800 hours on my Zukes - without a single issue. Don't know of any E-Tecs with more than 800 without a rebuild - seem to have sensitive electronics and bottom ends.

2-stroke oil? Lol!! E-tecs use extreme low amounts of oil and they only serviced every 300hrs while most aother 4strokes under 100hrs you just cannot compare japanese motors to american motors (sounds like world war2)hahaha but yet again for the guys who earn a living by doing commercial angling its plainly their decision I just personaly think e-tecs are the way to go

You obviously sell E-tecs. apologies if my comment doesn't favor you.
I have 2 friends with E-techs, both 50HP motors from new. One guy loves them the other wants to pull his hair out. I have personally not owned them but you can see that my experience is 50/50.

Perhaps it has to do with the 300 hour service and too little lubrication? We all know if you service and look after a motor it should last longer?

Bad Manners - what is the name of your dealership? You seem to be using this thread as a marketing tool for the motors you sell. Perhaps you should consider contacting Bennie and advertise officially.

Here is a link to a thread you can revive and chat about Etecs:

Yip, even with my 135 HP motors I do better. 12km per tank per motor...

I did a 190km round trip the other day on 6 cans of fuel in a really crap sea (18knots some of the time direct into a westerly coming from Marlin Hole). That would be 63km per tank per motor.
