Now I hope no one thinks I'm being a tosser here, but I am so stoked that I had to show and tell. I know this site should have fishing pictures etc. So forgive me, until the next one hopefully walks the same path.

Finally Junior got all his WP stuff today. The fishing shirt, the travelling step outs. Navy blue crocs, shorts tracks a whole bloody armada of shyte.
Whilst he still looks a royal chop, at least he looks a professional chop.

I have been spoilt to have spent ridiculous amounts of time on the ocean and fished our seas when we really did have stupid amounts of big fish around. But not one moment on the sea has ever brought a smile to my mug as much as today.

To all the parents out there, you cant live your life through your kids, that I know but teaching someone an skill/art and seeing it blossom has to be the most rewarding thing - ever.

To date fishing has kept junior out of the malls and away from the playstation, if this is his vice, I reckon it's the best one to have.

As to any future "chicks" as they call them - good luck with the budgets he he he

Congrats Matt, and HT on both your achievements...

Matt on becoming a bloody damn fine angler and ambassador for our sport, and renewing my faith in the youth of today as you must be one of the coolest, most head screwed on straight, well mannered and sharpest kids out there, and I look forward to sharing a deck ( hopefully a bloody one ) with you someday in the future

HT - Congrats to you too for raising such a fine ambassador for our sport, fine angler, and great kid who will grow up to make you even prouder than you are right now.

Huge congrats to you both, stoked for ya to the max!

Enjoy and congratualations - sounds like this is one occasion to celebrate with a Fishbraai (with no need to go to the shop to get it)! ..or Sushi for that matter.

Will post a pic of the chop when he is all kitted out and the badges have been sewn onto blazers etc.

I'm not smiling so much this morning. Was settling in to dinner after a good few ales when this guy - Captain Morgan who it appeared was just as stoked as me attacked me with a vengeance. Must have got a fast one in an moered me on the head the sneaky bastard.

Well done Matt, now get to work on the bottom fishing skills, so you can make the Wp team for bottom fishing nationals as well. The the old ballie to teach you how to work the old KP and come and visit me down here in the tkei and catch some of the coppers we have here. HT well done mate, now its just kak and betaal time.

hammer i work with kids daily and all i can say is if more parents showed a fraction of interest in their children as you do we wouldnt have the problems we do today.

keep it up and be proud to know that you and yours have achieved something others can only dream of.  kudos to you

Tkei - no joking. This little episode for junior to go play at shelley beach for a week is going to cost me just under 7 gorillas.
Crazy man.

BUT...
You can't put a price on an experience and adventure like that. U16, flying around fishing for you province.
Damn life sucks...

Just hope when I'm old and buggered he'll let me crew for him.
