Hi chaps,
Have been a follower of this forum for a long time when ever i have required advice but have never posted as i have always been able to find what i required. but so far i am very confused....
Heading to Bassa's next year and starting to look at tackle and what i need to purchase. unfortunately i am on quite a serious budget so reels like the Stella are completely out.
The question I have is this. currently i have a Shimano Stradic 8000 with 50lb jig man braid and a trevella mh. as i understand it for Bassas i may need to up grade to 80lb braid and maybe a trevella h or xh?
For popping would i be able to use the same reel with an appropriate jigging rod or would you recommend a reel with bigger capacity (maybe also for jigging). i was thinking something like the saragosa 18000?
if i could get by on the stradic this would be first choice but after going to all the effort to get there i dont want to be in a position where i regret not getting an extra outfit or something more appropriate.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Ross
