Laurentia (Rushmere)

Good day to all,

So the misses and I are going to laurentia for the long weekend, and it's my first attemt there.
Is there any specifics,or advise that you guys can share with me?
I've made my own batch of boilies, all extremely fishy, and going with Berkley Tuna spice.

Thx

Ok...Fish Flavours are good there in Winter, but take something Robin Red along just in case...I had good results there last month on fake maize but that was on 5, dont dismis the margins keep your eyes open for any signs of fish, my wife got a 12.9kg 5m from the bank

Did you catch out in the mid of the dam,or was it not that productive?
Also,do the fish bite anytime there,or is there a window period, like maybe predominently evenings?

The fish can bite all around the 2 hours but they can just as quickly not bite at all. Early morning late evening they are the most active. Deep on 3 across to the dead trees is good about 60m and always always the margind 20 m in fromt of the reeds to your right

Usually my fish come out mostly from 11pm on till 5pm, but this time 2 came out after dark, and 4 during the day... I'll Say most fish came out closer to the bank than the middle, but this was my first time fishing peg 5...it's not that lekka IMO, I prefer 1, 3 and 6.

went for a session there last weekend in the cold front, landed 6 and lost 3, biggest was 10.1 kgs and my new PB, had a ahuge problem with crabs there they love fishy flavours, try airdry your boilies so that you can only get through it with a boilie drill, we fished mostly pinapple pop up with a maple or chocolate boilie, snowman presentation.

let me know what you got and sizes:wfish

Had a blast! Took my daughter specimen fishing for the first time. 1 hour into our session and bam, i got a 12.20 kg, Half hour later she lands a 11'40kg. Wow a Pb and a first for her! We landed 13 outa 15 Runs. Had a great session. Christopher packed up Saturday morning after blanking :fbash

Its the place to be if you new to specimen angling for sure!!

Wasn't just because of the blank.
I was using braid leader, and mono main line, and it was bitten off repeatedly due to crab city.
It's because there's no babel to control the crabs.

Anyway,so you learn.

My leader is about 20m.
I didn't have my braid with me,and I didn't want Shanin to throw me out,so I left.
I'll return better prepared next time.
I didn't back lead.

Leadcore is easier to bite off with the lead still in tact ......... I remove the lead completely and have a supple length of leadcore ..

I check the braid, leadcore and hooklinks after every re-bait or fish etc.....

I'll be on swim 7 this friday to sunday ....... !!!
