I have both reels and both are excellent reels ! The Saltist cast better for me,thats

saltist has better line capacity and a centrifugal braking blocks...


the torium with a few upgrades can stand on par with the saltist.

i have both, excellent reels.

Both of them good reels both about same size and weight roughly, it comes down to personal choice.
Both have pros and vice versa,
You prob going to target big fish with the outfit so line capacity is important............but with braid doesn really matter any longer.
See what you like and what feel better on a rod then decide the durability on both are about the same, the daiwa has more bearings, cpae town is more shimano territory durban side more daiwa again

to be honest I wouldnt fish a torium without upgrades for big fish, its not nice when the drag locks up on the standard washers and when the handle spins backwards and knocks your hand stukkend. But the same can apparently happen to the old saltist
