Hi, I'm also quite new to the game, but for what its worth here's my input.
Start with a feeder rod, most bank angling equipment can be used for entry level feeder angling, but not the rods. I recently bought a Sensation Feederzone 12' rod (RRP R399) and I regard it as a good entry level feeder rod.
If you are aiming to do some serious feeder angling, have a look at Gys v/d Westhuizen's feeder seatbox/platform package, I think he sell's it for around R4000-4500. At the moment I'm using a "Made in China" fishing chair, not great but does the job.
I see you are in RHK, there are a few feeder anglers in North West, I think most of them are in Marico Polisie hengelklub, you can maybe try getting hold of them, I'm sure there's someone who wouldn't mind showing you the ropes.

hi gpz

thanks for the reply. that is a good prise for those rods seeing as the cheapest sensation rods here goes for about R900. I went to a feeder clinic the past weekend where jumbo and  Gys talked about the basics and Gys now has seatboxes for about R3500 witch i think is not to bad. my main concern is the open end feeders i cant seem to get hold of the ones i`m looking for and seems like Gys is also importing at the moment. what he did tell me is that he is currently working on a mould to produce the feeders but will still be a wile before we can get hold of it. I did quite alot of research regarding the feeder angling and think that it is going to pick up very fast. I am now the fith angler in my club wanting to start and some of our members has allready done a few sessions and says it is grate fun

I am for time being busy building my own seatbox withc I think at the end of the day will be the cheapest and most practical way to go. currently using my fly rod and seems to be doing okay for what its worth.

being new to it all advice is taken in and really apreciated and i will share as i grow in the sport of feeder angling

It's probably the Sensation ProFeeder rods, they sell for around R900 here as well. I've seen one or two anglers using them and they seem very nice.
Yes, feeders are a problem at the moment, I have resorted to making my own feeders from "pill bottles", not ideal but works. It would be great if Gys or others can start producing feeders locally. I would like to see a pic of your seatbox, maybe I'll also go that route.
I also think that feeder angling has the potential to become popular and it is good to see that the feeder community is growing.

That is correct, we as TOTAL FISHING are the sole importers for both MIDDY & MILO equipment and we supply to Pieter at Xtreme.

if you cant come right at a distributor you are more than welcome to purchase either online or via tel/email.

As a matter of interest we are currently selling a fully imported MILO Feeder/Match Seat box with a side tray and they retail for R3800, and are going quickly
