Hi Friends

I'm heading down to Pearly Beach the end of the month. I please need to know where I can cast a line (name of spot and directions). What bait do I need to have (where to get the bait).

As I'm coming from Knysna, is it advisable to take bloodworm from here or do I have to get bloodworm from that area? I once was told that only baits located in a spesific area work in that area and not in other areas, is that true?

What is the best way to preserve or keep bloodworm as fresh as possible for as long as possible?

Thanx and tight lines.:fishn

Hi bloodworm

Are u refering to pearly near hermanus?

If so,driving through Gansbaai theres 2 or 3 tackle shops in main road, asking for advice should prove helpful, frozen baits should also be avail,i never fished at pearlys so i wont offer any advice about the area, driving out of gansbaai youll find uilenskraal, pump for prawn here and if u have time fish either side of the mouth,if you time it right you can expect steenbras, kob, belman, reef fishetc, all on prawn ,if u choose to pump prawn  and drive till end  of road(10-15min)theres a gravel  road, turn  right  and  next  right  till  gates, thats  DIE  DAM, will  pay  to  go  in  here  though, magical  place  if  conditions  are  right, nothing  but  fond  memories  here  for last  24  or  so  years, enough  bait  avail  locally  so  keep  bloodworm  for  your  hunting  grounds, red  bait  u  shuold  be  able  to  cut  at  pearlys  after  all  this  bad  weather  we  had  here

There are  some members who come from that  area  and maybe  a  pm  to  them  will  be  an  option

tight  lines and hope to see some pics^^..

Well what a good time of year to come to the lovely Pearly beach.

You have got Miles of fishing area and the fish at the Damme, Uilkraal plaat, Hermanus plaat and Pearly beach itself is good this time of year.

To get to these spots you will have to speak to the locals.

You can ask the owner of the Fish & Chips shop in Gansbaai.

 Name of the owner Fanie

Shop name: Fishing lady

Located in the Main road next to the Seven Eleven.

(Best Russian and Chips in town)

Bait

Red bait, prawn, Bloodworm & Fish bait.

Please note that you can bring your own bloodworm it works anywhere.

Fish you can Target

Muscle cracker, Galjoen, Belman, Steenbras and Cob.

damme is very good this time of year.

Pearly beach got stunning spots this time of year, I know that coast very well. After all the storms the holes are open, plenty of Galjoen. The best bait in this area are Prawn, and  wonder worm   matured redbait. The best spot on low tide is Called “bangelos” the little fishermen houses close to the pearly beach garage and little shop. Then the “Grys” is always good option but after the storms you need 4x4.Just over the Uilenkraals brige you will see little wooden house turn right, pay R25 or green Card free and there are plenty of spots, just take fishing license the inspectors will be there. The “GRYS” is very versatile you can catch everything there, look for open holes! Then blue water bay in Pearly beach also good spot. Then if you want to know were the fish is biting go to Pearly beach fishing club, nice food and the old fishermen are always there! I’m also going there end of September!!! There are more spots but difficult to explain you just drive past pearly beach and enter the sand roads but make sure you know were you going, some roads are very bad after rain!  The place is called Soetfontein!! But you welcome to call me: 083 402 8560 can explain in more detail.
