Sensation Xtreme Caster 14ft

I am always looking for something new, I also have too much kit but then I saw this rod and some reviews.

Has anybody used this rod or blank for light rock and surf?

I need the ultimate 4-5 ounce blank and have not found one that suites me yet.

Craig, I know you are going to read this, can this rod cast 4-5 ounce weights with small bait?

Superslim 50-50-430 for R&S

The Extreme caster is to thin and being of 40T Carbon won't be rock friendly.

It is a rod I would like to fish scratch fishing with but is built to cast specific rigs a long way out.

When we were testing we had a Saragoss 20k on it with 5lbs mono and had over 40 casts going over 200m with longest 235m.

I've got Hennie Papenfuss's 50-50-430 (1 piece) there in the shop and that's the rod you want for that type of fishing (probably in 3 piece though)

Eish, thought for a moment there we could have another "project" coming up.

Is Hennie's 1 piece in for upgrading or for sale?(you know I prefer 1 piece).

430 is that now 14 ft or longer? If longer than 14ft may be a problem for me to cast.

Hi. It as a 1 piece project rod. We upped it to a 60-50-430. So this one is an excess Rod that he wants to sell.

He now has 2 x 100-50 (7oz) rods for big baits) an 80-50 (6oz) for smaller ineds and large eds and extreme distance casting, his longest measured cast with a Bullseye and 6oz on that rod is 237m and his 60-50(5oz) th ultra long range scratching with 5oz and bait.

I notice he opted for the lower modulas version of the ss. Is there a specific reason for this or just personal preference?

Casting and fishing Dynamics with the Grinder.

The SS xxx-50 series is not a lower modulus but a different Wrap of HMG materials making the action a bit slower than the 100 series rods.

The 100 series is a mix of T53 40Ton and 36Ton whereas the 50 series is 36 Ton only and all those are HMG

I went and converted the extreme caster to a surf rod .
really impressed.
looking to purchase a spare tip if available or second hand rod
