Flavors: Big fish vs small fish

I once read using strong flavors like Perdeby etc to attract fish faster usually gets you a small carp since they get to the bait quicker.
I know people who never use any ball dips and use only plain feed on the bombs. They say since it takes longer to attract fish, the chances of landing a bigger carp is higher. Can there be any truth to this?

This is perhaps a silly question, but here it goes...
Are there specific flavors smaller carp are less attracted to than bigger carp? Or even better, flavors that smaller carp will even ignore perhaps? I highly doubt it, but it costs nothing to ask

PS. I know specimen angling is the main reason for cutting out smaller fish, but if I can improve my conventional angling a bit, why not.

any feed, flavour no flavour will attract small fish in due time..
the size of your bait will determine what you catch..

gumtree Pips can get you bigger fish, as the small ones leaves the bigger bait,
if casting to a feeding spot, cast onto the frindge or slightly away +- 3M from the spot, bigger fish partol the frindges of feeding spots and takes a long time before they move into the feeding spot.
casting just over or to the lft or right may get you the EG, 6kg fish between the 3kg to smaller size fish that feeds ON the spot.

use it dont use it...

That is the magic question.

If there was a flavor that kept small fish away you will be a millionaire on the spot.

The reason for using less attractants are if there are a ton of small fish they will swarm to your bait with zero hesitation and pick it up but if they don't smell it they wont swarm. Now the longer the bait is left unattended the better chances a bigger fish might swim past and pick up your bait but there is no magic formula that guarantees anything.

I have seen guy's like Louwtjie mention they will put on something like almond or aniseed to attract a bigger fish but that might give them a 500g bigger fish the times it "works" I have found that if you are catching on one flavor changing to a drastically different flavor gives the same effect for a little bit. It might lay longer and maybe a little bigger fish but eventually the fish become accustomed to the new flavor and they start eating freely on the new flavor as well.
