Hi

Any recommendations on reel size for a Loomis Archipelago 10'?

Rod will be used for spinning.

Price range R1000 - R1500

Thanks

I just got a rod like that myself. I'm testing it out this weekend, will be pairing it with a penn conflict 5000 and 30lb braid as i am going to be scratching in rocky areas.

I will hopefully be able to give you some info regarding the balance of the rod with the reel by tuesday

I have the 10' and the 11' and I use the Daiwa BG4000 and the Quantum Cabo CSP40 on them. Both reels do well on any of the rods but the Cabo just balance better on the 10'

I have the 10ft and recommend a 5000 Shimano, the SEDONA FI being right in your price range and it's quality.

I have used an older Sienna 4000 and more recently the Daiwa BG4000, which is really nicely balanced.

And if you could get the Stradic FL then you would be making a very smart purchase.

I ended up with the Azores 40. Will be playing around with it in Struisbaai today. I actually ended up with 3 as I bought my lighties 1 each.
,Got them each a 10' tripple x for all-round fishing.

Digging up an old thread, but how well is the balance of the 40 Azores on the 10' Archipelago? I have the 12' paired with the 55 Azores, lovely balance.

Recently got the 10' also (price was too good to ignore), planning on pairing it with a 40 Okuma Ceymar I have lying around, but will probably not be able to resist temptation on getting another reel! ;)

Tried the 55 on it, but it was slightly too big, I was surprised how easily the combination fished but you could feel the balance was not right, after 3 or 4 hours spinning my wrist started getting sore.

The ceymar works well on the 10' though, so still resisting temptation!
