GOOD DAY ALL,

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED AN AMAZING ROD-ASSASIN 13FT SABRE ROD ,WITH BIONIC FEATURE,JUST LOVE IT !!

TRIED IT OUT TODAY,HAS A LOVELY WHIP TO IT ,3,4 & 5 OZ WEIGHT..

I WOULD LIKE TO BUY A REEL FOR IT AS MY JARVISWALKER COFFEE GRINDER
:uzi, HAS KICKED THE BUCKET ,ITS A REAL CHEAPO THAT WORKED REAL HARD UNTILL IT COULD NO MORE!

MY QUESTION TO YOU IS, WHAT RECOMMENDATIONS ON REEL(COFFEE GRINDER) WOULD MEET MY ROD STANDARDS,NEEDS TO BE A GOOD QUALITY ONE FOR ABOUT R3000-R4000

YOUR ADVISE WOULD BE GLADLY APPRECIATED::tight:

Where in Cape Town are you I would suggest Jacita tackle in Brackenfell, they are extremely helpful, Arthur is the greatest at Jacita.
Look at the reels as the purchase is as much cosmetic as it is functional. I would however not go bigger than 5000-6500 reel. Considering that you will use the rod for edible fishing. With a 13ft rod you are able to fish close and at a fair distance.
Here in Cape Town, especially Muizenberg and Strandfontein nothing more is needed. I would spool with 30lb braid and 80lb braided leader. Ensure that you include the cost of braid and leader in your 4k budget.

IM BASED IN THE SOUTHERN SUBURBS,

I DONE SOME RESEARCH AND SAW THAT THEY HAVE SOME GOOD REVIEWS..

IM GOING TO UP MY BUDGET TO ABOUT R6000, THE SARAGOSA SWA 2020 SEEMS IDEAL,TONS OF GOOD REVIEWS ASWELL

JUST WONDERING IF THE 6000 MODEL WOULD BE SUFFICIENT,

I FISH MOSTLY IN THE RESERVE(CAPE POINT)

PAULSBERG,BLACK ROCKS & VENUS POOLS:f1shy

SOMETIMES SUNRISE OR BAILEYS COTTAGE..

I went from multiplier to grinder 2 years ago. Prior to that I fished Torium 30's and Daiwa 50H BG's. I still fish the BG's purely due to casting distance in the surf.
I then purchased a Spheros 10 000 for surf applications about 6 months ago. The Spheros has all the attributes the Gosa has i.e. all same internals, look is different i.e. black and silver. For purely surf applications the 10 000 is slightly too big, although you can fit an 8000 spool on it. I fish with 30 pound braid and the reel is beast regarding gearing and casting. Again slightly too large for only surf fishing. If I had the opportunity I will buy a 6000 Gosa or Spheros for my application. Regarding your application, if your intention is to fish for yellowtail mostly, then maybe too small, but for general rock and surf fishing is would be perfect. I have fished with my Spheros 6 times now and I am very happy with the casting ability and power.

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT, THE GOSA 6000 SHOULD BE SUFFECIENT FOR ME.

IM NOT INTO SPINNING FOR TALE YET,
MAYBE IN FUTURE,ATM ITS ROCK AND SURF...

IM REALLY NEW TO THE BRAID APPLICATION,BUT EXCITED AT THE SAME TIME

HAVE YOU HEARD OF JACITA TACKLE BEFORE,IM THINKING OF TRYING THEM OUT TO BUY THE REAL.. THE GUYS DOWN HERE ARE LIKE 400-600 BUCKS MORE THAN THEM..

WENT TO JACITA TACKLE, WAITED OVER AN HOUR TO SPEAK TO ARTHUR, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT HE CANT HELP ME, HE THEN PROCEEDED TO APPOINT ONE ON THE OTHER STAFF.. EVENTUALLY I WAS HELPED.. NOT IN THE FRIENDLIEST MANNER, VERY FEW WORDS

I ENDED UP BUYING THE SW8000HG SARAGOSA,
WHAT AN AMAZING REEL!!!!
