so yesterday i went to RDW alone (sorry Johan). the day was extremely hot. with hardly a breeze. i made a run to the gullies to see what was happening. and the fish were packed to the max. i mustof seen 1000 bass ranging from 300gm to about 1kg mark all rite up in the shallows. they did not want to know my story i threw everything at them.
i got a couple of small fish when all hell broke loose. i threw out my mojo rogged watermelon red junior fluke. i felt a tap tap and nothing else i put tension on the line and felt some weight on the end so i thought striking is for free so i set the hook and it was solid i thought i was ON TO A ROCK then she took off like a steam train really giving my gear a good work out. i thought it was a barbel. but then she came up mouth open and ready to throw the hook my heart nearly stopped. it is difficult being alone on the boat fighting the fish lifting the trolling motor and trying to get the landing net out. but i managed and got this beuty of 2.56kg (as per rapala digital scale) not 5 minutes after i hooked into another nice fish of 1.82Kg.
ended up with 8 fish,2 nice fish, 3 keepers and 3 rats... all in all a good days fishing.
