Baitcaster advice needed.

I have the Slade, the Symetre and some small Zester Coffee grinders and none of these reels has given me a seconds worth of troubles. The Symetre is the one I bought to use in surf and in heavy structure cause it's got some serious drag which is something that you should not overlook when considering your intended application in the salt, as them fishies are all equiped with some serious torque and macthing speed, hence the NEED for a reel with a decent drag.  Another thing that you might wanna keep in mind is the durability ito saltwater and corrosion etc.

Just my $2,0000000,0000000,00 Zim dollars = to ZAR 2c, worth.

The Symetre is an awesome little reel, also comes with 2 spools. I loaded mine with 0.18mm mono and 0.08mm braid.

But for heavier tackle I would still go for the Tica, its got less ballbrearings but its a monster.

Abu also makes a very nice spinning reel, but then again, you can buy 2 Ticas for the price of one Abu.

Thanks guys. Looks like my budget has just been slashed. have to buy a new freaking tent now. So I'm going to have to look at the cheaper gear :( Hope the symetre isnt to steep. Sounds like a strong reel. Will go and have a look today.

Once again thanks for all your help!!!

Ain't that the truth..... They're pricey, but worth it, and a little out of REC's Budget by the looks of it, REC, forget the tent, sleep in the car bud!!!!

Dam, that sux. could get the daiwa exceler + for R899.

But I am going to have to go and look at the cheaper gear now. Will buy some better gear in the next few months :)

Then rather wait a few months, put that money with the money you intend on spending on the cheaper gear now and you'll be able to even better gear than what you would if you first buy the cheaper gear now and later the better...... I know it's hard to do so but that's really your best option.

Anyhows you're just going to be anoyed with the cheaper gear and getting better than better gear will far exceed the levels of happiness if you wait till you can buy the better better gear and not just the better gear.

You will save money in the process.

Constantly wanting to upgrade costs loads of money, ask us gear sluts, more more bigger better stronger longer stiffer........................................

I get what you guys are saying, but here the catch. I need gear for the easter weekend. My old bass gear took a turn for the worse the last trip up in Magaliesburg 3 weeks ago :X And being that it is 6 years old. I really think I would be better off buying some cheap gear, than using the old.

I have been breeding reptiles since high school, suppling pet shops etc, for extra cash. And now that Im done at varsity, I am selling all of my breeding stock. So I will have some decent cash coming in to buy proper gear soon.

Bud, thats cool with me, and I'm sure the rest of the advice giving members, but it's mistakes we (I at least) made, and just thought that supplying you with this warning would be extremely valuable ito your happiness with the better gear you could buy if you wait a while and then go and buy with more cash in hand.
