Hi Oom...

This so happens to be one of my favourite fishing hole.

Depending on the water you can catch anything from shad to sharks....

Remember its open surf with some river mouth fishing, no rocks.

Enjoy

Hi

Very big Kob caught from time to time and in Sep your chances for Garrick are still very good.

I love that place and get down there whenever possible, when it warms up there are huge smashes with flatfish mainly Diamonds and Sandies

There are always Zambezi's there so don't swim dawn or dusk or in dirty water. There are no shark nets and the beach is steep with very strong rips and no life guards (for swimming rather drive North to R Bay for a day)

I've also caught a lot of Grunter and Perch and a few Bartail Flatheads in the river

Enjoy the beauty of the place and take some time to view the mangroves and the many mudskippers and mangrove crabs going about their quite interesting and at times comical business on the mud flats.

Hi.  Good places to try are directly in front of the car park but a little to the left where the dunes start.  Or else there is Lucky Dip where you have to turn to the left after the bottle store and follow the dirt road.  Not too sure what the condition of the road is but at the very least you would need a bakkie.  Has been done in a car but not really advisable.

We fished the Prawn Shack side a year or two ago around the same time, perhaps a week or so closer to August and it was Garrick all the way. Be careful of the rip when trying to get onto the bank. It's also the only place I've experienced where a small grey shark brushed past the 3 of our legs whilst standing on the bank in knee deep water. The locals told us that they often she shark fins break water in the estuary and river mouth (which usually isn't very wide).
