Greetings All,

A fellow sealiner (Ryan Clarke) has the opportunity to represent South-Africa at the world champs in Kazakstan next month, and requires some moolah to participate in this massive event..:fishn

A social fund raiser is provisionally on the cards for the 04-10-2009 at either Exclusive bass angling (Nigel) - Mr atties place or alternatively at oppiekoppie bass farm(brits) in order to assist Ryan.

Guys we do not have much time to finalize this event so I will appreciate all inputs/suggestions asap

Once the event is finalized, I will post the details.

Business owners/sponsors, I plead to support this event in anyway to make a dream come true for a fellow member in desperate needs..:fbash

PS: I will sponsor the coldrinks and wors rolls for all the guys attending...*OUCH*...lol..

It it for Artlure, basically trying to catch as many species as possible on artificial lures. Ryan is a master at it, that is why he was asked to represent SA

I think his sure nme is not Clark for nothing.

 

Ryan can probably catch that dried snoek in the middle of the sahara, using nothing but a stick with the word Shimano written on it.

Guys what about Raffeling one of the sponsers prizes. This will allow the KZN and CapeTown guys to contribute as well. Get a reel or a rod and we can buy tickets at R20 bucks each. Might make alot of money that way!

Here's an idea i've had for a long time. Didnt come to fruition last time:

This way you can get everyone involved all over the country in one go....

on the 4th of October 2009 from 08:00 till 17:00 nationwide any sealine member that has paid R20 entrance fee and was confirmed as on the list by 00:00 03 October 2009 can compete at any dam anywhere in the country.

On Saturday evening 21:00 a number can be posted, that needs to be written in black ink on a piece of carboard in the picture of your fish. This will ensure that only fish caught on 04/09/2009 can be photographed with the number.

To ensure nobody can hanna hanna about "that fish didnt weigh 2 kg" we can simply take measurements, the longest bass wins, so the picture has to have the measuring tape, the fish and the number in it.

Think about it. A person can now compete fishing Fishcershaven, against someone fishing Albert Falls, vs someone fishing a farm dam vs someone fishing the vaal river. On the same day. It will take a bit of effort but it can be organised by next week Wednesday if we put our minds to it!

Marthin, This sounds like a good idea. If everybody agrees to your proposed idea we then need formal rules and regulations.
We also need to up the entrance fee as R20 bucks is virtually nothing...Lets make it R100 or R150 and we get sponsors to sponsor lekka prices....Think of it,what is R150 nowadays?

 

All monies to be paid over to Ryan prior to the comp?

Ok the rules are not to difficult, we are going to handle competing in the WC sealine socials club in this manner....

I will try and get an overview of rules by Friday that the guys can look at. I agree with your entrance fee idea, but let's get a feel of how many people want to be involved. Sealine is a REALLY big baby. With the countrywide approach we could get many more than 50 people i would hope.

That is a good idea. But thats going to make it a bit unfare for the guys in JHB. We can't compete agains Carlo fishing goedies or GT40 fishing his dam. Thats like taking candy from a baby lmao.

Have two comps. One at EBA for the JHB guys and one for the guys away.

Great idea ! I don't know the guy but i learned a lot from his posts on Sealine. He shared some info that nobody else would have. As a token of appreciation i would like to contribute to the fundraising project. Even if i can't fish on that day i will happily pay the fee.

Provide us with a acc. number and i am sure a lot of  sealiners will do the same.

The only request ....Photos and a reportback on how things went.

EBA is one awesome venue, with nice bass and nicer catfish...was there the day when a guy caught a nice 15KG + catfish there...
