Milnerton Lagoon mouth

After hearing stories about the place I tried it for the first time today.

Got there just after 5am on an outgoing tide (three of us) and fished the surf channel where the lagoon discharges into the sea.

We tried white mussel, red bait, chokka and pilchard and did not have a single bite/nibble by 8.30am so went to the Wimpy for brekkies instead.

thanks for the info - BTW, the only fish u'll get there are plenty of harders and the odd Cob. The cob only bites on thew drop shot there, won't catch him with the bait mentioned as they only go there to hunt the little anchovies and harders coming through the slip.

Released them as extremely cautious to eat the fish out of there, the one was just over 30cm and the other just below 30cm. Great fun, used a small 7ft rod on the left hand side of the mouth !
Give it a try :)

You are referring to Steenbras right???

They would be fun to catch on light tackle but would need to be released regardless of pollution in the lagoon system as they are way undersize.

Think i'll give this one a miss...:)

They should be left alone though so that they can establish a healthy population...that is if the authorities manage to keep pollution levels down.
